A domain transfer refers to the process of changing the designated registrar of a domain name.

After domain transfer, the new registrar maintains all the relevant information.

Keep in mind that domain names may only be transferred if they have been registered with the previous registrar for at least 2 months

To transfer your domain, you will need an EPP code also called the authorization code.

Here is how you can get EPP code from GoDaddy, Name Cheap, and Crazy Domains.

Getting the EPP code from Do Daddy

  • Log in to the GoDaddy domain control centre.
  • Select the domain that you want to transfer.
  • You will be redirected to the domain setting page where you can select “transfer domain away from GoDaddy” in additional settings.
  • Review the checklist and select “continue to transfer” and click “complete transfer”.
  • Select “click here to get authorization code”
  • Copy the EPP code and you are ready to use it.
